Did a quick evening run out to Laguna Mountains and hiked out to Fosters Point, one of the few named lookout points along the Pacific Crest Trail. Summer and clear blue skies meant little drama and excitement for sunset of course, but the views (especially north) are quite nice.
The only thing is of course… the views to the north are almost all you get. West and south are blocked, and east is only partially visible. For a complete 360 vista in every direction, Garnet Peak is a better destination (and not a very long hike either). Then you don’t have it in your photos of course, and it’s one of the best-looking peaks along the Pacific Crest at Laguna Mountains for sure, with it’s steep drop and rocky cliff.
