Santa Margarita River in Spring (5 photos)

After the first visit early in September last year, I returned to the Santa Margarita River near Fallbrook in Spring – the water level of the river wasn’t that high anymore though and the possibilities to photograph the river itself in a favorable way were somewhat limited.

I hiked further than last time, exploring more of the area, which still seems to have plenty to offer. It is worth mentioning that the access and hiking trail at the Sandia Creek Road bridge lies well outside the actual Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve – which is set aside for preservation and wildlife, and is not open to the public. I found information online about tours that can be scheduled, which is probably worth looking into (I wonder if it’s possible to book some clouds, too!;-)
