On my previous visit to Boden Canyon the beautiful bed of Santa Ysabel Creek and its nice flow of water at the entrance to Boden Canyon piqued my interest – making photos of flowing fresh water in a creek in Southern California in a green environment? Yes please! (I split those photos into another post because they’re black & white.)
It was clear to me though that this was an afternoon location, but I still had to wait a while before the creek was mostly in the shade. I spent the waiting time photographing the area around the creek and at the entrance of Boden Canyon. The fresh and bright green leaves on the Sycamore and Cottonwood trees, backlit by the warm evening light were such a soothing sight.
