June Gloom

The thick vapor inversion called “marine layer” that covers much of the coastal areas all day long, especially in May and June, is still quite a surprising phenomenon to experience for me: half an hour inland, it is a bright, blue-skied and sunny day, and on the coast, it is so much darker, gloomy and depressing:
