A first view of the (more southern) Sierra Nevada, from a rest stop along Highway 395. It was pretty warm down in the Owens Valley, and a thunderstorm was forming over the mountains.
I hadn’t seen such beautiful, rugged, wild mountains in quite a while, after moving to Southern California (even though there are some surprisingly high mountains here) – I just had to make a photo, and a single image didn’t do the dramatic scenery any justice. This is a panorama, stitched from 6 vertical images, and cropped to a 3:1 aspect ratio. You can click on the image to open it larger.subscribe via email (the subscription form opens in a new browser window/tab). It's easy as pie! :-)
