My photo of the month for February 2014 is “Across the Vale” from my early morning outing to the back country, in an attempt to capture “that tree” at dawn (I’ve yet to decide which image I’m going to add to the gallery to represent the month of February, I’ve photographed it again last Thursday in the daytime).
After photographing the tree at dawn I drove up Palomar Mountain’s East Grade Road to Love Valley for a morning walk with Toni – it’s one of my favorite places in the back country. There, I made the above photo. The tree is an Engelmann Oak, and those are my favorite trees here. This one is overlooking the Lake Henshaw basin, and there’s a fine morning mist rising from the water surface – it’s hardly visible in the photo, but it adds a gentle softness to the distant landscape.
I added this photo to my “Arbres Monochromatique” gallery of black & white tree photos. Have a nice day, and stay tuned for the February summary post. :)
