McGee Creek Hike (10 photos)

We gave the valley of McGee Creek another try for a hike – this time, we started in the afternoon, calculating that the trail and valley, which is in a westerly direction first and then curves to the south, would at least be in partial shade already. We also didn’t waste any time at the lovely trailhead since we had already done that. :)

This worked quite well, but while the landscape in the upper parts of the valley is really beautiful and astonishing, the best display of fall colors is further down and close to the trailhead. There were smaller stands of Aspens higher up which had already lost almost all of their foliage.
