My Favorite Photos of 2014

It has become something like a “tradition” among photographers to make a small selection of personal favorite and/or best-of photographs as the year ends, in good part thanks to Jim Goldstein’s ongoing blog project. (previous years: 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009)

So here are mine for this year, and needless to say – it wasn’t easy to pick the photos. :) Regular readers will notice that only three images from my “Photo of the Month” selections made it into the top 10 for 2014. Which is not that surprising since I looked at the entirety of images from 2014 for this “top 10” selection – and also because I was looking for photos that I like and that have a bit of a personal, deeper meaning.

This is not a selection of the most popular photos of the year that got the most clicks, likes, +1s, favorites, views, etc. – I appreciate the attention those photos get, but this selection is mine alone. Without further ado, here they are, presented as a gallery for easy browsing. Just click on the first thumbnail below to open the gallery viewer.

For easier browsing, I have also prepared a gallery with these images in my store if you’re interested in a print.

  1. Nice shots, Alex and a good reminder to shoot some more long exposure day shots (when my 6 stop ND arrives). Hope to see you Algodones Dunes this Spring/Summer!

    1. Hi Peter, thanks for stopping by. It would be great to meet you at Algodones Dunes. Needs epic ;) timing though to get some good monsoon clouds! Lets keep in touch.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Mike! Glad to hear that you like the dunes image – the three outings to that place in Summer last year were clearly among the highlights of my photographic year. A happy & great new year to you as well!

  2. What a great set of photos Alex, you have discovered some great places around California state.
