Black Sand Patterns

While working on my Cardiff/Tabletop archives I stumbled over some unpublished images (not entirely unexpectedly I might add, ahem) of weird and alien looking patterns in the sand – an indirect result of the “sand pumping” operations that took place on the north county coastline to fill up the beaches with more sand.

In retrospect, I should have spent more time on these fascinating patterns, but I also wanted to make some (very) long exposures at the tide pools before sunset… ;-)
