A morning visit to La Jolla’s Hospital Point with Joe. Interesting conditions – I arrived a little bit later than Joe and it seemed like the Marine Layer would burn off soon, so we left to have breakfast. Upon returning though it was still mostly overcast, with the sun only occasionally peaking through the clouds. Such an unpredictable marine layer! ;-)
I wanted to make some really long exposures (one minute or more) again, just to stay in shape, so to say. I wanted to process the images in color though. I’ve made so many black & white long exposures at the coast already. Color is more challenging because the strong ND filters always introduce a certain color cast, but think I found an interesting look that goes well with the ethereal look of the water and the “alien” appearance of the shoreline with it’s many concretions and interesting details.
