Three photos from a spontaneous outing to Sunset Cliffs, with T.M. Schultze. The strip of beach at Sunset Cliffs that is accessible on somewhat sketchy paths is rather narrow; we stayed high above the cliffs because the tide was coming in. Getting to the spots that had some useful foreground down by the water was getting too problematic with camera gear.
I normally like making photos from an elevated position, but here, it didn’t really work too well for me because there’s not much to point the camera at. The foreground at the edge of the cliff is limited to some trampled dust with footprints all over – yes, it’s a popular spot, and aptly named…
Nevertheless, the sunset was surprisingly beautiful, with some good color in the sky. It reflected nicely on the water too, that’s where the position above the cliffs was advantageous.
