Happy New Year

Too all the readers of my blog and friends of my photography, I’m wishing you a Happy New Year 2017 and “Guten Rutsch” as the Germans say (which is short for something like “have a lucky slide into the new year”).

I don’t have any fireworks photos to share so here’s an image that may vaguely resemble fireworks – I know, it takes a bit of imagination! The black ice on the lake is the night sky, the star-shaped hoarfrost the fireworks, and the blades and stalks of grass the trails as they shoot into the sky. I hope you can see it now!

The photo was made in December 31st, pretty close to the time I’m writing this (albeit in a different time zone;-) in Germany, in 2008. And in a couple of hours it will be January again. Reset, start over, try again, a little older, a little wiser. Good luck with everything you do in 2017!
