Photos from a third hike to Cuyamaca Peak – and the first with a view of the hazy landscape to the west, below us. On previous hikes, it was either disappearing or already hidden under marine stratus (which is beautiful too, of course).
By my standards this is a fairly large gallery for a blog post – the views over a landscape from above, and extracting details with a telephoto lens are really among my favorite photography subjects. Add beautiful evening light and the soft filtering effect of haze and the long shadows. Then the sun sets and different hues of colors appear out of the haze. Light and air can be so magical.
