Back Country Rain

One of the few winter storms that brought significant amounts of precipitation reached Southern California on the last weekend of February. Joe and I drove out into the back country as the first, lesser wave of it arrived.

We took the usual route that would take us to Santa Ysabel West (part of the San Dieguito River Park), with a stop for coffee and a slice of warm pie to warm up after the first photo session, then continued along Mesa Grande to Lake Henshaw. We drove a little bit more along Highway 79 towards Warner Springs but the clouds began to disperse already. After a brief stop along Highway 78/79 at the Inaia Memorial trail we went back home with a nice set of photos.
