Blacks Beach Walk (10 photos)

Blacks Beach, or more accurately, South Torrey Pines State Beach, is one of the few stretches of coast in San Diego County where one can escape the always-present views of development along the coast – hiking down the path from the Glider Port, the fences soon disappear, and if it weren’t for other human beings and the occasional lifeguard truck, it would be a glimpse into what San Diego County’s coastline must have looked like 150-200 years ago.

During our September evening walk there actually was a light drizzle and the sun remained hidden until the very last moments before sunset. The light was quite spectacular and everything was bathed in warm, first golden and then orange-red hues. Irresistible. :-)
