Some black & white impressions from an outing to the old Calcite Mine, in the north-eastern corner of Anza Borrego Desert State Park. It’s funny – I’ve been to the area many times, but always to explore the slot canyons (including the Sheep Tanks). I never went all the way up to the actual mining area, who knows why!
Because two days ago I finally hiked all the way up there, and boy is it stunning. What a place! A ragged landscape full of canyons and fascinating rock structures with numerous wind caves. This first batch includes some black & whites, more will follow (and in color).
