When I updated my homepage with a new set of images recently, I realized that I had never put the previous three photos together as a “Small Set” and collage/triptych. Duh!
Small Set
These small sets are comprised of images that are meant to be viewed together. Though some may have a singular visual appearance that may qualify them as a triptych, quadtych etc., that is not necessarily a criterion. It’s simply that together, these photos are more than the sum or their parts, as the saying goes. I hope you can see that too, and enjoy it.
Some of these are available as ready-made collages (as a single print) in my print-on-demand store, in the Collages Print Gallery. If that looks interesting but you’re looking for a different arrangement of frames, or can’t find what you’re looking for, please contact me and I’ll be glad to help.
Boulders & Buckwheat
It feels like there’s always time for some Southern California “summertime hues”, and I’m still collecting images for a portfolio themed around that topic and its colors and subjects. So far however, it doesn’t look as coherent as I’d like to, so perhaps more images are needed.
Three Views of Water
This triptych of Staubfall and Fischbach came together as I’m working on “cleaning out the vaults” of 2008.
Geometry of Shadows
A small set of three abstract/minimal photographs made inside the house, trying to do something different…
Canyon In A Canyon
Here is a small collage of photos that I made in April last year, during my “escapes from the pandemic”, when I went for solo hikes (maximum social distancing!) in the desert. Not a single person in sight, for hours and hours, just like I prefer it, pandemic or not. ;)
Stones Are Just Pieces of Rocks
When I hike in the desert the sheer variety of rocks and (their) stones always astonishes me. Different colors, textures, shapes and forms come up randomly and often within just a few steps in between them.
