The two Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserves (West and East) have long been among my favorite places in San Diego County, and I’ve been there many times. When we hiked the Western preserve with a friend in April 2013, we could watch the clouds slowly descending onto the landscape, eventually covering everything in a thick blanket of fog. Absolutely unbelievable. A place that is already full of peace and quiet turned into an absolute dream. It was too unreal, and I still think that the sensation is transported better with false colors.
