During an afternoon walk at nearby Lake Hodges, I noticed these stands of dry reed, now old and decaying since they’re way, way above the waterline of the lake*. At dusk, the fading light in the evening sky softly illuminated it, tinting it in pastel colors.
I’m always intrigued by the chaos and complexity of nature, and here in particular, the very first photo below (“Chaos & Elegance”) was what immediately attracted my attention, and I find looking at the shapes, lines and color tones strangely satisfying and calming.
*) the lake’s level has dropped a lot during California’s prolonged drought, and while El Nino has brought heavy rain to Southern California, it was just not enough to have a significant impact.
Photographs are simply awesome. I love clicking such pictures of nature. Thanks for sharing this post :)
