On the cover of Sunset!

Today while grocery shopping I spotted a Sunset (magazine) special “Summer Trips” and thought “Hey, I have a quite similar photo from Crater Lake!” – then I looked again, and recognized the distinct shape of the cloud in the distance. “Is this my photo?!” I thought and looked inside for the front cover photo credit.

And indeed – it IS my photo, sold through Getty Images. It’s my first magazine cover, and I’m totally excited that it is Sunset magazine – a publication with such an incredible history. The first issue was published in 1898!

The photo is from our 2013 road trip – yet another series of blog posts that I need to add to my archives. I do have the photos of Crater Lake in two posts: Crater Lake (9 photos) and Crater Lake black & whites (7 photos).

I added a photo of the magazine cover and the credit on my Facebook page if you’re curious, in this post.

And if you’re wondering why I only learn through grocery shopping that my image is on a front cover… :-D it is quite typical for stock photography that sales aren’t reported immediately, but only once per month. I do not have the actual report yet for my sales from April.
