Eucalyptus in not native to California, and even though it has been here for a very long time, in places like these it does no good – with its deeper roots, it takes water from native trees. If these eucalyptus trees were removed, native oaks, sycamores, willows and cottonwoods would surely thrive down here by Hell Creek.
