Only the camera makes it possible to see the beauty of these reptiles. The detail, coloration and pattern of the scales is marvelous, but hard to truly appreciate from the distance that we’re limited to with our human vision before the lizard runs away. This photo was made at 500mm focal length and is slightly cropped (and, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, to the “classic” 17×6 landscape panorama format).
