Shuwen and I wanted to hike Noble Canyon from Pine Valley, up towards the Laguna Mountains – we didn’t actually intend to reach Laguna Meadows, but wanted to at least reach the center parts of the canyon. In our typical fashion we began our hike in the afternoon, to eventually get to enjoy nicer light and longer shadows.
We did not anticipate that it would heat up that much though, and thus decided to cut the hike way short and just loop back to our car along Pine Creek Road after hiking on the first part of the Noble Canyon trail. It was quite pretty nevertheless, and the lush green of Spring was highly enjoyable. The creek that drains the Laguna Meadows and Water of the Woods runs through Noble Canyon and eventually joins Pine Creek. It had quite a bit of water after the very wet 2010/2011 La Nina winter!subscribe via email (the subscription form opens in a new browser window/tab). It's easy as pie! :-)
