Summer Holly (Comarostaphylis diversifolia) looks very, very similar to Mission Manzanita (Xylococcus bicolor) and both are in the Ericaceae family. Summer Holly has slightly more serrated leaves though, and it’s trunk has a “normal” bark, instead of the smooth red/orange/brown bark of Mission Manzanita.
