Tabletop Reef at Cardiff State Beach (Seaside State Beach) during a February storm, before it was almost entirely submerged by sand during the 2012/2013 sand-pumping operations in San Diego County.

Most of the sea life and plants on the upper parts of these tide pools (mussels, algae, barnacles, anemones, surfgrass) was killed as a result of the great $28.5 million sand replenishment project.
