When doing long exposure photography, I usually make photos at a very high ISO sensitivity as an in-between step, to test my exposure settings and adjust them if necessary. I usually keep the test exposures on the camera, but most often delete them after import. Sometimes however, the test exposure with the grainy high ISO appearance works better than the actual long exposure, and this is one such example.
