This grainy image has a bit of a story behind it – I was on a hike to Zwiesel early in the year 2007, with my first DSLR, a Nikon D70 with kit lens. It was a pretty hazy day, and on the way towards the peak, past Zwieselalm, an elderly guy with a camera looked at my camera and said something like “today is not a good day to make photos” when I had just captured this scenery. It is still one of my personal favorites. Minimal, reduced, and yet so rich. I think photographically, I’m more often attracted to “odd” images and scenes.
