I admire plant resilience. Plants master adverse climate and topple our human efforts to control and eradicate them. They withstand the harshest desert conditions, they establish themselves between slabs of concrete, they crack asphalt, and generally take a hold wherever they can. Plants are sometimes perceived as obnoxious weeds when they grow in places where we decide they should not grow – but aren’t they also a sign of life and resistance?
