Not an easy pick for the photo of the month for June 2015 – quite some nice chaparral photos, some from the coast, and Torrey Pines in fog to choose from, oh my!
In the end, I picked this image from a recent morning outing to Windansea Beach (I’ve yet to process & publish the rest of the images, this is the first).
Why? Because it’s somewhat strange and unusual. Using a polarizing filter removed glare from the water, making it mostly transparent and allowing to see the rocks even though they were getting submerged by the waves. The incoming tide washing over the rocks caused a certain blur-effect that makes the photo almost look like a double exposure. I guess some would call this an accident – I find it highly intriguing!
That is really beautiful.
Truly spectacular work Alex!!! I enjoy your images and artistry very much!
Thanks a lot, Fraida!
