Winter photos from a January afternoon at the confluence of the rivers Salzach and Inn (German: Salzachmündung), near Bergham in Bavaria.
The backwaters were frozen and people were playing Bavarian curling (an ice sport) on it. In other, more quiet areas, the snow on the ice was covered with animal tracks and it was possible to walk on it to reach spots that are not accessible in other seasons. I originally made these photos in 2010, and just recently re-processed them while cleaning my image archives a little bit. I’m quite happy with the cold peaceful winter silence that the images transport. Hope you can feel it too.
