When I began making photos of the medium and large size shrubs in the chaparral last year in May*, it was too late already for photos of the flowers of some plants, and the Spiny Redberry (Rhamnus crocea) was one of them.
I was finally able to complete my gallery for this plant today when I took a walk at Black Mountain Open Space Park this morning, adding the last photo to the gallery below – took me a moment to realize that these tiny green things among the fresh green leaves are actually the plant’s flowers!
*) looking back at my goal, I have to admit it’s actually a more ambitious project than I had anticipated, and it may take me longer to get there than expected – I blame time! It passes so incredibly fast…
