Spring in the Chaparral (4 photos)

I finally hiked with my friend Fred again and we did a little point-to-point hike at nearby Lake Hodges. Spring is still alive & kicking and wildflowers and bushes alike are in bloom, or bear their fruits already.

These are cellphone photos because I just wanted to hike, but then of course couldn’t resist making photos of the beautiful plants! I find it simply amazing how phones are blurring the boundaries (just have a look at that Whale Peak Panorama – so easy to make!).

I saw some new plants that I had not seen (or perhaps just not noticed) before, and my chaparral naturalist friends helped me to identify them. What an awesome bunch of people!

  1. The California Everlasting one almost looks like it has some depth of field going there. Pretty good for a camera phone.
