My fifth hike at Volcan Mountain near Julian and I finally managed to get spring and “normal” conditions combined – more clouds and lower temperatures would have been desirable for the photos of course, but getting out to hike is never regrettable (obviously). :-)
At the high point (which is not the true high point, but the highest point accessible to hikers) large patches of Creamcups were in bloom, some lupines as well, and the field of California Poppies that I first saw in April 2016 made another appearance this year. Nice!
