In my first post from our 2022 Death Valley Trip, I mentioned how at Death Valley, the landscape itself is the abstract. I found the best way to represent this was with the photos that I made from up high, at Dante’s View and Dante Peak*. A couple other locations and the views they offered allowed for similar “abstractions”.
It has been a bit quiet here lately — besides working “behind the scenes” on (re) building my photo archive, we’ve been out of town for a few days, visiting Death Valley National Park.
Last week, I went for my first desert hike of the cool season — finally. And of course I went back to the Coyote Mountains Wilderness!
On my first desert hike of 2022, a few days ago, I was still on the trail after sunset, deliberately waiting for twilight and that magical glow of the landscape when it is illuminated by the soft, warm colors of the sky after sunset.
