A few days ago my friend Kevin and I went for a hike at Hollenbeck Canyon, where I hadn’t been in quite a while. The creek that flows in the canyon doesn’t always run and after the recent rains, I was hoping to make a photo of it as the water is making its way through some rocks, that sort of thing.

Infra-Sepia Monochromes
Here are a few more infrared photos from another visit to the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve, this time with my Rokinon 14mm prime lens (which equals 21mm on my crop sensor infrared camera body).
Nine Forests, Ten Photos
Our September/October road trip was, among other things, a tour of many forests. Needless to say: the number of photos that I made is absolutely overwhelming. We’ve seen so, so many beautiful places that it is hard to find a starting point. So for this post, I decided to make a one-of-each compilation from all the forests that we visited.
In the Woods with Kay
Black & white and color impressions from a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail in San Diego’s Laguna Mountains, after tropical storm Kay had brought substantial amounts of rain to the area, and its clouds still shrouded parts of the forest.
The Glowing Greens
Ten photos of greens glowing bright, to provide visual relief for Southern Californians… and all others who might be a little green-deprived at this time of the year.
