Black & white high-key portraits of dried Anthurium flowers (commonly also called Flamingo flower, Tailflower and Laceleaf) against a white background with light wood texture. I’ve been keeping the flower’s dried inflorescence for a while, until I had a “collection” to play with and arrange. Combining the light background with a high-key look and using black & white resulted in the visually most striking and clean results, even though it meant abandoning the interesting, velvety appearance of the flower’s fading red color.

Morning Fog at Lake Hodges

The Piedras Pintadas and Bernardo Bay trails at nearby Lake Hodges (part of the San Dieguito River Park, here is a list of all trails) are my most frequently visited area for walks with Toni. I don’t bring the camera as often as I used to, but when the conditions are right we’re out there in 10 minutes. Do I need to say more about how much I love fog and how it transforms and enchants landscapes that we think we’re familiar with?
