A set of three marshy ponds in the woods near Tarsdorf in Austria is just known as “Huckinger See” locally (pronounced Hook-in-ger) – which translates to Hucking Lake, even though it’s multiple little lakes. This quiet and serene forest area was one of my favorite spots for contemplative walks with the dog and a camera.
This blog post archives contains the photos grouped by date and visit. A portfolio gallery with hand-picked favorites is also available on the site, as well as a keyword archive containing all the photos.

Visiting Huckinger See (Hucking Lakes) after a rainfall, late in May. It’s quiet, the birds are still hiding, the only sound is the dripping of water when the wind moves the branches and they gently shake off the rain onto the forest floor and into the little moory ponds.
