The Peak of Spring

Even after more than ten years in Southern California, the lushness after winter rains still amazes me. In early to mid January, the landscape and vegetation can appear as if it was at the peak of spring, already.

Here are two frames from an afternoon hike with a friend, at Daley Ranch in Escondido:

The greens are amplified by the use of a polarizer of course, which eliminated reflections and glare and intensified the color itself.
