Not all dead trees are gnarly, ghostish and scary: meet the wild brother of the Cookie Monster, found along the Sunset Trail in the Laguna Mountains!
In other news… my hiking plans for the upcoming week have been completely squashed by the “Walker Fire” burning near Lee Vining. My plan was to do day hikes in Yosemite, based out of Lee Vining. I had the motel room booked and everything, and then Tioga Pass Road from Highway 395 up to the entrance of Yosemite National Park got closed. Great!
So I just keep working on my Sierra Nevada blog archives (the detailed list of additions will be in my monthly update for August, of course) to fuel my longing for some mountain hiking!
